History of Germany: Back to the Past |
We all know that there is no future without past. And it can't be
questioned that history of Germany is events and facts poor, because history
of Germany is really prominent.
It began many centuries ago, in about 6th century some German tribes
were conquered by Merovingian Kings, and it was the beginning of the
History of Germany. Native laws could be left without changes, but
local religions oppression started and Christianity was actively
spread. At the same conquest campaign was held, it should be noted that
a lot of lands and territories were got, including northern Italy, some
France territory and lands of Saxons and Bavarians. In 800 the Holy
Roman Empire was founded. The features of the period was authority
above bishops and the Pope. It's worth stating that a continuing war
was between German ruling dynasties and Popes. Then the epoch of orders
began, among the most well-known are Templars and Teutonics.
In the 12th century new cities and towns were established, including
imperial free cities, trade was rapidly developing, as well as culture
and literature. Then there was the Death Dance, killing Jewish. And a
little later emerged money and class and financial inequality followed.
The Supreme court, taxes and reforms were on the threshold of the 15th
century.
There is nobody in the whole world who hasn't heard of Martin Luther
who wrote 95 antichurch theses. As a result came thirty years long war
between Protestants and Catholics.
At the end of the 18th century there was the end of the Holy Roman
Empire, the 19th century is famous for the beginning of establishing
German Confederation. In 1848 National German constitution
was adopted in Frankfurt am Main.
Some 20 years later German Confederation was transformed
in the North German Confederation. Then the First World War
started and on the 28th of June in 1919 the Treaty of Versailles was
adopted. In August Weimar Republic started its existence creating
German Communist Party and Socialist Workers' Party.
Hitler... and Third Reich. Nazi revolution. Austria, Czechoslovakia,
Poland, the USSR. Holocaust...It's a dark and dirty spot in the History
of Germany.
And blooming sprang up after the difficult post-war time. Then reforms,
good times, the EU. It should be pointed out that Germany didn't
support Iraq invasion.
